Screenline® blind systems, the new innovation in conservatory and window blinds!
ScreenLine by Pellini is a system of blinds, which are assembled and permantly sealed within the double-glazing cavity. Once sealed in this totally dust free environment, the blinds require no cleaning, always appear new and are protected from damage unlike external blind systems. Benefits also include enhanced sun shading features and it also enhances the u-value of a sealed unit.
Screenline® blind systems have been available for prestigious building projects around the world for many years. However, it has now specifically developed a new integral blind system for the conservatory and domestic replacement window market, using the same technology.
How does it work?
Screenline systems work on the principle of a blind sealed in a double glazed unit. Once sealed, the blinds will require no cleaning or dusting, as they are protected from dust and other contaminants. Therefore the blinds will always appear new, thus adding to the order and elegance of your conservatory or double glazed windows.
The blinds are available in a choice of colours and can be ordered in either a Venetian or a pleated variety. The external controls will be white and all the blinds will be fully colour coordinated within the cavity.
The movement of the integral blind is controlled by a radical new magnetic concept, which has been developed to form the basis of the operating system. A pair of rotating magnets, of which one is placed inside the cavity and the other is connected outside, directly control the movement of the integral blind. This system of magnets ensures that the seals around the unit are not affected, thus keeping the blinds completely protected from dust. The magnets have a lifespan of over a 100 years, enough to ensure quality usage for as long as you like.
The young history of Screenline
Screenline has been produced in Italy since 1992 by a company called Pellini. This company has a long history of producing blinds and folding doors; in fact, it has been producing successfully since 1974. In the 80's the company grew to become the licensee for Hunter Douglas, the world's biggest producer of window coverings, with big names like Luxaflex, Duette and Luxalon. Pellini became the market leader for blinds in Northern Italy and in 1990 began collaboration with a Japanese company for technical blinds, and a Dutch producer of high-tech fabrics with amazing solar and heat-refractive qualities.
The creation of the patented magnetic operating system enabled Pellini to go on and develop Screenline, which, in turn, was patented in 1992. These events resulted in important contacts with world leading glass producers, such as Pilkington and Saint Gobain. These days, because of the great successes of the Screenline system, Pellini is concentrating more and more on the production of these sealed blinds. And with major companies like Oxford University, Smith Kline Beecham and the Royal Air Force having seen the benefits of the system its clear Screenline Conservatory Blind Systems have a bright future.
